Now Accepting Bids for Lawn Care Maintenance Services

The Washington County Board of Education is inviting bids for lawn care maintenance services for approximately 105 acres on the following building sites:  Washington County Board of Education, Washington County High School, Washington County Elementary/Middle School campus and North Washington Elementary School.

There are 3 specific locations that will need to be bush hogged needing a minimum of 2 times and maximum of 4 times per calendar year.  Weekly services for these properties should begin the last week of March and continue through second week of November of each year.  Mowing must be done after school hours.  Services must also include weed eating around fences, buildings, parking lots, sidewalks, and playground areas, weed control, leaf blowing, and trash pickup.  All entrances, roadways and sidewalks shall be cleared of grass clippings.  All playground and sports fields excluding the High School football field will be mowed with a regular lawn mower for a closer cut.  No Round-Up or other chemicals are to be used.  Weekly inspections of mowing will be conducted by the District.  Bids for mowing should be submitted on the Lawn Care proposal form provided by the District.    The maximum number of weeks to be paid is 31 weeks and the minimum to be paid is 24 weeks for the calendar year.  The contract may be renewed for up to 3 years if agreed upon by both parties.

Bids are to be received on or before 2:00 p.m.., Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Washington County Board of Education, 120 Mackville Hill, Springfield, KY  40069.   All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “LAWN CARE BID”.  NO electronic submissions will be accepted.

Proof of workers compensation and $1 million liability insurance certificate must be provided at the time of bid.  Must meet all background requirements by laws.  All questions may be directed to Ray Kelty at 859-481-1312.

The Washington County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids deemed in the best interest of Washington County Schools.
