Everett Honored for 20 Years of Volunteer Service for Preschool Program

(SPRINGFIELD, Ky.) – Mrs. Rita Everett, a volunteer with the Washington County School District’s preschool program at Washington County Elementary School, was honored for 20 years of service by department staff. After retiring from Central Kentucky Head Start, Everett began volunteering with the preschool students, working with Missy Hamilton.

“I’ve always loved working with the kids,” she said. She also recalled memories of helping preschool students review numbers, colors, and teaching them to tie their shoes. She has even taken materials home numerous times to prepare them for the classroom.

“Mrs. Rita has been an invaluable asset to our preschool program,” says Missy Hamilton, preschool teacher. “There are no words to describe her sincere dedication and service given to the education of our children. She has worked countless hours both in the classroom and even in her home when her health did not allow her to physically come to our class. Her love of the Washington County School District is evident in her loyalty and service to our children.”
