WCES Hosts Interactive Book Walk for Family Literacy Night

WCES hosted a Title1 Literacy Night with a “Interactive Book Walk.”  K – 2 grade students traveled from room to room on a “Little Red Riding Hood” book walk.  Students completed activities and task to complete along the way.  This was a fun interactive way for students to become part of the story. Students, grades 3 – 5, completed a “reader’s theatre” activity, wearing costumes and making masks of the book characters.  Later they performed for the K-2 students.  Kindergarten parents received an information session focusing on early literacy strategies and explanations/discussions on Fall MAP and Brigance results.
