(SPRINGFIELD, Ky.) – Washington County High School juniors Cameron Bonzo, Mackenzie Bottoms, Kennedy Ann-Maelyn Cochran, Olivia Cox, Garrett Devine, Lauren Elizabeth Mann, Abigail Mattingly, Mary Medley, Catherine Mulholland, Madelyn Sagrecy, Grant Satterly, Gabrielle Thompson and Hannah Willis have been chosen to be honored by Central Kentucky Youth Salute, according to an announcement from the Central Kentucky Council on Youth Leadership. The Central Kentucky Council on Youth Leadership has been affiliated with the National Council on Youth Leadership since 1981. Its purpose is to recognize high school juniors who have sustained at least a 3.0 grade point average through the end of their sophomore year and have held two leadership roles to which they were chosen by their peers or an adult leader within the past two years in school, religious or community sponsored organizations. Students chosen are photographed by Holifield Photography for community and school displays and regional media recognition.
“Being selected to Youth Salute is an honor for these students,” says WCHS principal Malissa Hutchins. “It is a testament to their hard work in the classroom and in other activities. These young men and women are not only some of our best students, but they are leaders among their peers in all that they do. They definitely exemplify the expectations that we set forth with our WC pride! We are extremely proud each one of them for receiving this honor.”
