“This position was something I never imagined would be possible when I began my journey in this district in 2006 as an instructional assistant,” says Sagrecy. “Since that time, I have had the opportunity to serve in many roles at the high school, and with each step—from instructional assistant and assistant football coach, to teacher and head football coach, to assistant athletic director and assistant principal—my passion for impacting our students, staff, and community has continued to grow. When this opportunity became available, I was drawn to the challenge and the opportunity to make an even greater impact in a school and community that I care deeply about. The chance to continue serving WCHS in this role is both an honor and a privilege. My top priorities as principal will be to create a student-centered, student-driven environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. I believe students need access to diverse academic, extracurricular, and social experiences that allow them to explore their interests, develop their talents, and build confidence. At WCHS, I want to see success in all areas of the educational experience—academically, athletically, and through clubs and activities—because these opportunities play a vital role in building school culture and overall success.I will also focus on fostering a strong professional community that empowers staff to grow personally and professionally through collaboration, reflection, and continuous learning. By investing in our educators, we strengthen our student outcomes. Ultimately, my goal is to empower students to take ownership of their learning, grow as individuals, and develop the skills, confidence, and character needed for future success. As principal, first and foremost this is my home, and this community has given me so much. I feel a responsibility to give back every day through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to investing in the lives of our students and staff. My goal is to build relationships and connections with students and staff that extend beyond the walls of WCHS and last a lifetime. In the end, I want WCHS to be a place alumni are proud of, students love to be, parents and guardians trust and the community is excited about!”
“We are excited to announce Eric Sagrecy as the next principal of Washington County High School,” says WCS Superintendent Dr. Robin Cochran. “Mr. Sagrecy has built meaningful relationships throughout our school community and has earned the respect of students, colleagues and parents through his student-centered approach. His commitment to continuous improvement will help ensure that every student is challenged, supported and prepared for success after graduation. We are confident that under his leadership, WCHS will continue to provide outstanding opportunities for students while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and belonging.
