(SPRINGFIELD, Ky.) – The Washington County Board of Education has appointed Jennifer J. Chesser to fill the vacant District 2 seat on the Washington County Board of Education. Chesser’s appointment will fill the remainder of the current term, which ends December 31, 2026.

Chesser is a 1996 graduate of Washington County High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science in corrections and juvenile services from Eastern Kentucky University in 2013. Throughout her career, she has worked as a co-owner and manager of Corner Market in Willisburg, as a deputy guard and intake officer at Maion County Detention Center, and currently serves as a Social Service Clinician I with the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice. “I decided to apply for the board vacancy in District 2 because of my passion for advocating for the needs of students and their families and serve as a bridge to the community,” says Chesser. “I look forward to the collaboration and teamwork with the current board members in decision making. It’s an honor to serve in this seat as a representative of my community and as an advocate for District 2.”
