Washington County FRYSC has been hosting Born Learning workshops at the Washington County Public Library. The program provides free workshops led by trained professionals for parents and caregivers of children from birth to age five that focus on building relationships, building your child’s language skills, nutrition and health, how children learn and routines and learning on the go. It also offers opportunities for parent networking and support.
At the workshop on June 12, student were able to participate in making homemade play dough and parents learned about being their child’s first teacher. During the session on June 19, the importance of early literacy for ages two through five was discussed and each family created their own stories.
The next workshop is scheduled for June 26, 2017 at the WCPL and will discuss the importance of connecting with community resources. There will be community partners present to provide information on their programs. Any parent with children ages two through five can attend.
