Mobile Dairy Classroom Visits North Washington

The Mobile Dairy Classroom was a great real-world learning experience for all of our students! Students from Preschool to 8th Grade got to see Jett the Jersey cow and Megan Bailey with Southland Dairy Farmers. They learned about milk production, nutrition, dairy cattle, farm operations, and careers in the agricultural industry.

7th Grade ELA Classes Make a Case for Recess

Mrs. Carney’s 7th grade students have been applying their argumentative writing skills by writing a letter to our school SBDM Council arguing whether students should have recess. They have utilized argumentative appeals, claims, and counter-claims, and also practiced their peer revision skills by helping each other improve their writing.


Making Connections at Children’s Literature Conference

   Mr. Dugger recently had the privilege of meeting New York Times best-selling author Rita Williams-Garcia, keynote speaker at the 2017 Ohio Kentucky Indiana Children’s Literature Conference.  Her novel One Crazy Summer won the 2011 Newbery Honor Award, the Coretta Scott King Award, and the Scott O’Dell Award for Historical Fiction.

North Washington Hosts Veterans Day Recognition Assembly

North Washington had a packed gym for its Veterans Day program this morning.  Students enjoyed recognizing the special veterans in their lives and from the community with special music performed by the bands from WCMS and NWES under the direction of Mr. Scotty Burns, as well as a vocal performance by fourth grade students under the direction of Mrs. Pam Nicholas.  Heartfelt tributes were read by eighth grade students Amber Chesser,…
