MAP Assessment Progress

We are very proud of our students in Kindergarten through 5th grade who had growth or achievement on their Winter MAP assessment in Reading and Math!  Students were recognized for growth if they met typical growth based on the growth from the Fall MAP to the Winter MAP scores.  Students were recognized for achievement if they scored above the 61st percentile based on their norm-referenced scores.  There may be other students who…

Washington Co Spelling Bee Champ

T.J. Yates is no stranger to the Washington Co Spelling Bee. Springfield Mayor Debbie Wakefield, and Springfield natives Angie Logan Edwards and Alma Burton Edelen visited WCES last week to speak to students about nationally and internationally significant African-American women! Each speaker challenged students to be the best version of themselves and to use their gifts to bring about better communities and a better world.
